Mildred Katherine Irvin Harris, daughter of the late Sam and Roberta Smith Irvin, was born April 13, 1941 in Danville, Virginia. Mildred departed this life on Friday July 10, 2020 at Taylor Hospital Hospice in Ridley Park, PA.
Mildred attended Pittsylvania County public schools and graduated in the class of 1961 from South Side High School, Blairs, Virginia.
Mildred affectionately titled herself as the baby because she was the youngest of her siblings whom are all deceased. The Irvin siblings were, four brothers: William Henry Irvin, James Edward Irvin, Willie Lee Irvin, and Junior Roosevelt Irvin; and two sisters: Ellen Cheers and Wilhemina Toler.
Mildred joined Temple Baptist Church in 1962. A dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church where she attended faithfully. Mildred was a member of the Starlights Choir where you could hear that melodious voice coming from the back. Mildred was also a member of the Sisterhood and Memorial Guild.
Mildred worked at Kimberly Clark (Formerly Scott Paper) for 30+ years, retiring in 2003.
Mildred was a sister of the Grand United Order of Tents since 1979. She currently had served as Deputy.
Mildred has a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Essie Russell, Todd(Judenia) Wilson, Kiyshela(Jay) Thomas and Gwendolyn(Marcel) Miles. Her dearest cousin Griffin(Earnestine) Turner. Her personal drivers, Pearl Burton and Patricia Lancaster. The Starlights, Temple Baptist Church Family and Grand United Order of Tents. Also, a host of nieces and nephews in Danville, Virginia and Maryland.
