Life Story

Larry Robinson of Chester, PA passed away in his home on Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was well known and loved by all in his community. He was born on November 16, 1949 in Wilmington, Delaware.

In his earlier years, Larry was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Twin Oaks, PA. Larry was educated in Chester, PA and was a proud graduate of Chester High School and continued to be an active supporter of Chester High’s athletic teams.

Larry was a former employee of Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA where he was the head horticulturalist and kept the grounds looking immaculate and the Chester Upland School District as a custodian. Upon retirement he continued to be an independent cultivator and landscaper.

In his spare time Larry LOVED TO SING!! He was a member of a local singing ensemble called THE LEVITATIONS. He was also a proud Son of the American Legion Post 300 along with his brothers Roland Jr. (Butchie) and Michael Yarbray.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Roland Robinson Sr., his mother Elsie Robinson and his nephew Robert (Bobby) Robinson.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his former wife, Deborah Cooper (Jones), his daughters Darell Rogers (Jones), Larissa Berry (Robinson), Lerin Robinson, and Danielle Robinson; his siblings, Sharon Robinson, Roland (Butchie) Robinson Jr., Wendy Robinson, and Michael Yarbray, Louise Johnson and Norma Ford; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will also be missed by his special friend, Ms. Sarah Towns.
