Obituary for Edith Mae "Boo" Grayson

Reverend Edith M. Grayson, affectionately called “Boo”, daughter of the later Welby H. Grayson, Sr. and Martha Ellen Grayson, was born in Middleburg, Virginia on May 16, 1932. She departed this life on November 20, 2018 at the age of 86.
Reverend Grayson attended school in Fauquier County, Virginia where she received her high school diploma. She gave her life to Christ at age 12 at Rock Hill Methodist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Otis Jasper.
Reverend Grayson moved to Chester, Pennsylvania in 1960 and immediately joined St. Jon A.U.M.P. Church, serving God faithfully for 20 years under then Pastor Delbert Jackson and congregation who presented her to the conference for ministry. After four years she was ordained and assigned her first church, Hosanna A.U.M.P. Church at Lincoln University, Oxford, PA. Over the past 25 years, she has pastored 7 churches from New York to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Reverend Grayson has traveled throughout the world doing Foreign Mission in China, the Philippines, Manila, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Jerusalem, Canada, and the United States. Reverend Grayson retired form pastoring at the 195th Annual Conference on May 29, 2007. To God be the Glory!
Reverend Grayson leaves to mourn her passing, her 3 beloved children, Paulette, Tony and Ivan, an extension of her legacy. She is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Taj Grayson, Dr. Marvyn Grayson, Dr. Jamar Grayson, Samantha Grayson, and Talon Grayson, and two great-grandchildren, Zoe Grayson and Kaleb Grayson. She is also survived by three siblings, Eugene Grayson, Nancy (Grayson) Mercer, Walter Grayson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
