Clara Freeman was born on March 25, 1942 and transitioned on June 8, 2018. She is predeceased by her mother Cordrena Hackett Cottman and her father Monroe Hamlin and Kirkwood Cottman, who raised Clara from a small child. Also predeceased by her sister Sheila Carter, Vanessa Hamlin, Betty Washington and Sylvia Cooper.
“Sing”, as she was affectionately known, was born and educated in Chester, Pa. She attended Faith Tabernacle Church, then later in life, joined The Way Thru Christ Community Fellowship Church.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband Otis and seeking out new restaurants to dine in with her dear friend Ellawese Costen.
While at Brinton Manor, she enjoyed those precious moments spent with her family and friends.
She had a great LOVE FOR FOOD.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 55 years, Otis Freeman, children: Marlon Freeman, Carla Freeman, Matthew (Monique) Freeman Sr., Regina Freeman, Aaron Freeman and Ivan (Jada) Freeman Sr. Siblings: AnnMarie Cottman-Ricks, (Cleo) Lorraine Bush, Barbara Tucker, Mary Louise Barley, Joan Nickerson, Michelle Kane, Patricia Hamlin Nix, Linda Strand, Edward (Elizabeth) Gibbs, Richard Gibbs, Kirkwood (Marilyn) Cottman, Monroe Hamlin, Bruce Hamlin, Lamont Hamlin, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins, friends and a dear friend Ellawese Costen, sister Rosa Newsome and Pastor Catherine Jacobs.
